Donor Egg Program, Dallas Texas
Dallas-Ft. Worth, TX Fertility Associates

The donor egg program at Dallas- Ft. Worth Fertility Associates, Dallas Texas (link points to our separate donor egg Web site.) is one of the most successful donor egg programs in Texas and the Southeast. This page is an overview of our donor egg program and we have a separate Web site with extensive details including donating eggsDonor Egg Couple

The demand for donor egg program services in Texas and throughout the United States continues to grow as the female population ages. Many women delay childbearing until later in life and couples are marrying at “older ages”.  As women age (See age and infertility), so do their eggs, ultimately climaxing in menopause and ovarian failure. Sometimes a woman’s egg quality declines at a younger age, which is known as premature ovarian failure. Donor eggs are often the only hope for these women.

Dr. Chantilis has personally conducted well over 2,000 donor egg cycles. “Numbers" of donor egg cycles is important because it increases the physicians’ and staffs’ experience and expertise. Our donor egg program is one of the most successful in the United States as demonstrated by our IVF donor egg success rates.

Our donor egg program is also discussed in detail at our separate “Donor Egg Program, TX” Web site. There you will find detailed discussions of how egg donor cycles are conducted, how egg donors are chosen, donor egg success rates, and much more.

Donor eggs are indicated when a woman cannot user her own eggs for conception. This may be due to advanced female age, premature ovarian failure, unexplained infertility, ovarian cancer and its treatments, or other conditions. The egg donor’s eggs are used in an IVF cycle with the husband’s sperm. She must undergo ovulation induction with gonadotropin hormones, ultrasound and estradiol monitoring, and egg retrieval.  During the egg donor’s stimulation, the birth mother’s cycle is synchronized with fertility drugs so that her endometrium will be ready to accept the developing embryo.

Our donor egg program coordinator, in concert with each couple, carefully selects an egg donor residing in Texas using the services of several well known donor egg agencies. Egg donors undergo extensive physical and emotional screening. Sometimes a couple will supply their own donor which is termed a “known donor” such as a sister or personal friend.

Once the eggs are fertilized the resultant embryos are incubated until mature, usually three to five days. During this time the donor egg recipient receives medications to "sync" her cycle with the egg donor's.  Her body must be ready to accept and support the developing embryos. Once mature, the embryos are transferred to the recipient mother in a painless procedure.

Our Donor Egg IVF success rates are equivalent to the donor’s age group (if there are no other contributing factors, such as male factor). In other words, if eggs are retrieved from a fertile 22 year old and used in an egg donation cycle with a 40 year old, the success rates equal that of the 22 year old's age group. With high success rates fewer donor egg IVF cycles may be needed to produce a pregnancy thus lowering infertility treatment costs.

The Texas Donor Egg Program section of our Web site features in depth information on how to donate your eggs, and being a donor egg recipient.
